Puny Tunes
"the wee whistle"
The Puny Tune is a small four-holed musical instrument that was first designed in 1977 by Bryan Mumford. It is a modern innovation of the ancient clay vessel flute commonly known today as the ocarina, and it was granted U.S. Patent D258,364 in 1981.
Puny Tunes have a unique fingering system, which is capable of producing an accurate thirteen note chromatic octave with only four fingerholes. They are handcrafted from a resin-impregnated northern birch laminate called DymondWood®, electronically tuned in the key of C major, and each comes with a brass keychain lanyard, protective case and playing guide.
Simple to learn yet offering wonderful musical possibilities, the pocket-sized Puny Tune is among the world's most portable wind instruments.
